First-Lineup Onboarding

From Signup to Your First Submitted Fantasy Lineup

This is the start-to-finish platform walkthrough: create an account, verify it, build one valid team, choose a sensible first room, and confirm the entry. No season tactics and no cross-format theory—just the shortest clean path to a submitted lineup.

What This Guide Covers—and Where It Stops

A first-time player has a practical problem before strategy begins: learning where the account, match list, team builder, captain controls, and contest confirmation live. This page follows those screens in order. By the end, you will know whether the account is verified, whether the XI passes the platform rules, and where to see that the contest entry was accepted.

Deeper selection work lives elsewhere. The cross-format playing method compares T20, ODI, and Test builds. The IPL-specific workflow deals with franchise rotation, the Impact Player rule, and the tight post-toss edit window. Those guides assume you already understand how to submit a team; this one assumes nothing.

Have your own phone nearby for verification and use a private connection. Check local eligibility and age requirements before signup. Paid fantasy contests are not available everywhere, and account creation does not override the rules where you live. If paid entry is not available or is not part of your plan, the same onboarding flow still works with eligible free and practice contests.

Six Steps to Your First Submitted Team

Complete each step before moving on. The sequence keeps account problems away from the matchday countdown and stops the contest screen from driving the lineup decision.

  1. 1

Create your account from a private device

Open the signup flow, enter your own mobile number, and use a password you do not share elsewhere. Read the age and location eligibility before continuing. A first contest is not worth starting on a borrowed login or an account whose details you cannot verify later.

  2. 2

Verify the number and complete the profile

Enter the one-time code sent to your phone, then make sure your name and basic profile details are accurate. Verification protects account access and prevents a mismatch when identity or withdrawal checks come later. Never pass an OTP to another person, including anyone claiming to be support.

  3. 3

    Open one upcoming match

Choose a fixture you recognise and can follow near its start time. Read the format, teams, scheduled lock, and available player pool. For your first entry, one match is enough; jumping across several fixtures makes the interface harder to learn and the team news harder to track.

  4. 4

    Build a valid first XI

Use the on-screen role and team limits to fill every required slot. Keep the first build straightforward: active top-order batters, players with regular bowling work, a starting wicketkeeper, and no player whose place in the real team looks doubtful. The team screen will show the remaining credits and validation messages.

  5. 5

    Choose captain and vice-captain

Captain and vice-captain carry scoring multipliers, so pick players with reliable involvement rather than treating the badges as decoration. An all-rounder, opener, or strike bowler often offers a clearer first-contest case because their normal role creates repeated chances to score.

  6. 6

Join one suitable room and submit

Start with a practice, free, or low-entry small contest. Check the fee, field size, paid ranks, and lock time before confirming. Review the final summary, submit the team, and look for the entry confirmation in My Contests. That confirmation is the finish line for this guide.

What to Confirm on Each Screen

Most first-entry mistakes are visible before confirmation. A wrong phone number, unfamiliar OTP, unfilled role, or unexpected wallet deduction is a stop sign—not something to fix after lock. Use this screen-by-screen check while moving through the flow.

Make the First Entry Easy to Review

The first contest is a product lesson as much as a cricket result. You are learning how credits are counted, when the lineup locks, where edits appear, and how live points reach the leaderboard. Keep the variables small enough that you can tell what happened afterward.

Keep the room simple

A practice room lets you learn scoring without an entry fee. If you choose paid play, a small low-entry room makes the result easier to understand than a giant field with a top-heavy payout.

Wait for reliable team news

Saved teams can contain a player who does not start. Reopen the lineup near the toss when possible, remove non-starters, and confirm the captain still has the role you expected.

Set the budget before browsing

Decide the maximum first-entry amount away from the contest list. Ignore countdown pressure, bonus banners, and “filling fast” labels when they conflict with that number.

Before submitting, run the Dream XI pre-lock checklist. Then use the contest selection guide to compare head-to-head, small, mega, and practice rooms. A reward can wait until you understand the basic entry flow; when one does appear, read the bonus and expiry terms before claiming it.

First-Lineup Questions

Can I learn the platform without entering a paid contest?

Yes. Start with a practice or free room when one is available. You can build an XI, assign captain and vice-captain, submit the entry, and watch live points without attaching an entry fee to the lesson.

Why does my team refuse to submit?

Check the team-builder messages. An incomplete role, wrong player count, exceeded credit limit, or too many picks from one real team can block submission. Resolve every warning before returning to the contest.

Can I edit my first team after joining a contest?

Edits are generally available until the stated lineup lock. Open the submitted team from My Contests, make the change, and save it before the timer ends. Always confirm that the updated version appears against the entry.

Where should I go after submitting my first lineup?

Use the fantasy-cricket how-to guide for T20, ODI, and Test methodology, or the IPL guide for Impact Player and season-specific matchday decisions. This page covers account setup through first submission only.
